For 4 servings:
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. spaghetti
1 can of crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/4 cup of tomato paste
1/4 cup of red wine
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1 teaspoon of dried basil
1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons of olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Grated parmesan cheese for topping (optional)
1. Cook the spaghetti according to package directions in a large pot of salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté until they turn soft and fragrant.
3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until it's browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat from the pan.
4. Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Mix well, reduce heat to low, and let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes until it has thickened.
5. Serve the spaghetti on plates, top with the Bolognese sauce and grated Parmesan cheese. Garnish with fresh parsley.
